Prints vs. Originals: How to Tell the Difference at KeyeskeKara Creations

Prints vs. Originals: How to Tell the Difference at KeyeskeKara Creations

At KeyeskeKara Creations, we believe clarity creates a better collecting experience. Our originals and our prints are not the same thing and they’re not meant to be. Each has its own purpose, value, and identifying details. This guide exists so you can enjoy your piece with confidence, without assumptions, confusion, or disappointment.

If you own an original from us, you’ll know it because being informed is part of the experience.

Our Original Works

Our original artworks are mixed-media pieces created by hand and intention. These are one-of-one works, not reproductions.

What defines an original:

  • Mixed media construction

  • Some pieces naturally show bleed-through on the back due to the materials used

  • Created on high-quality cardstock

  • Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity (COA)

  • New for 2026: Each original includes a COA Code written on the back of the artwork and on the COA itself

These characteristics are not flaws. They are part of the physical reality of mixed media and part of how we authenticate our originals.

An original is tactile, dimensional, and unmistakably itself.

Our Limited Prints

Our limited prints are a separate offering, designed to make our imagery accessible while remaining clearly distinguishable from originals.

What defines a limited print:

  • White backing (no bleed-through)

  • Flat, clean presentation

  • If the print ships directly from us, it includes a hand-signed signature on the back

  • If the print ships from one of our approved partners, it will also have a white back, but may not include a hand signature

Both versions are legitimate. The difference is the fulfillment source, not authenticity.

A Note on Assumptions

If you’re ever unsure about what you’re purchasing, please read the listing details carefully or ask before buying.

Assumptions create unpleasant experiences. Information creates pleasant ones.

We are very clear about how we do things. When expectations are aligned with our process, everyone wins.

If You Own an Original

You don’t need to guess. You don’t need to compare. You don’t need to question it.

If you own an original from KeyeskeKara Creations, the materials, construction, COA, and COA Code make that clear.

That knowledge is part of owning the work.

Thank you for supporting intentional art, informed collecting, and a process rooted in transparency. We appreciate collectors who take the time to understand what they’re holding and why it matters.
